Cooking Sense provides a platform to discover and share Caribbean food culture. We aim to showcase the Tastes, People and Places that are a part of it. Tell us what you want to discover and what you would like to share in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We’ll try our best to get back to you within two weeks!
Some of what we’re looking for:
For the Website
Stories that may include your food memories or adventures. We especially love recipes that show an uncommon or unique way of preparing a Caribbean ingredient. If you’ve authored a cookbook, we’ll feature an excerpt and even review it, if you ask us to. Events coverage and whatever else you’d like will do too.
For the Magazine
We publish a quarterly, high-quality print magazine with exclusive content about the tastes, people and places that make up Caribbean food culture. If you would like to be featured or make a request, see our theme for the upcoming issue here and our Contributor Guidelines & Style Guide here. Your ideas, requests and other submissions MUST fit the theme provided. Some of our sections include:
Table Talk – letters, questions, food memories
Inside Secrets – tips, tricks and techniques that you wish to know from industry professionals
In Season – fruits, vegetables, food trends in your island during Dec, 2016
Ingredient Profile – what ingredient and its uses/recipes would you like to know more about?
Recipe Box – your recipes or recipes you would like to get
Galleries – send us your foodie events & gatherings photos
(If you’re sending us requests for what you would like to see in the upcoming issue, questions that you want answered, events photos, food memories or letters to the Editor, please email email@example.com.
If you’re an interested writer, photographer or would like to submit a recipe, please send us your pitch at firstname.lastname@example.org. This should include a description of what you’d like to create, write about or photograph and why, as well as a sample of your work.)
For our Social Platforms
We’re inviting our readers to post a photo of what they’re eating to our Facebook page each Friday, with the tag #whatscookingCS. At the end of each month, the fan whose post received the most engagement will win a prize! Only quality photos will be accepted. Posts, which do not match the Cooking Sense style, will be removed. Only posts made on Fridays will be considered.
